Even I am surprised to find myself in this industry – see I work in real estate, but I am not the ‘real estate’ type. My love of property and the Brisbane lifestyle has led me here. I have been watching this industry for years and knew there had to be a better and easier way to purchase property.
Brisbane has been my home since attending university over 20 years ago. Back then I would explore the city and enjoy every minute. Today, with my children in tow, I still love spending my days discovering parks and neighbourhoods and seeing Brisbane evolve into such a liveable city.
My love of real estate began in my early twenties when I purchased my first apartment. I continued working in the corporate world as an accountant but always kept a close eye on the property market and even assisted friends and family in their property purchases.
Over the next couple of property purchases I experienced first-hand how much time and stress buying a property can cause people. It became clear to me that most people only buy a home occasionally in their life and go about it alone without any qualified expertise to guide them, or worse, take advice from the agent who represents the seller’s agenda.
Recently, when it became clear that it was time to scale up our family home, I was able to use my real estate experience to navigate successfully through the buying journey, ultimately purchasing an off-market property that has delivered exactly the lifestyle our family wanted. It was then that I realised it was time to combine my love of Brisbane and it’s property market with my professional skills and analytical background to start The Informed Buyer.
These experiences have led me to bring a fresh perspective to the industry and to establish my own business to ensure my values aren’t blurred by the industry norms. My clients appreciate the personalised and considerate approach I take to their search, and my ability to put myself ‘in their shoes’ to get the outcome that is best for them.
I’m here to do things differently, with an authentic and transparent process. I’m not afraid of going against the status quo by offering new and different service models for engaging a buyer’s agent. I also have a strict policy of not accepting or paying any referral fees – so you can be 100% confident that I’m working in your best interests alone.
